37 patients were referred to the Nuclear Medicine Center for ablative treatment or therapeutic dose of radioactive iodine. 73 % belonged to the group of high risk and 27 % intermediate risk. 81 % of patients were women with a female / male ratio of 4.3 and an average of 50 years old. The average dosage of thyroglobulin in the post-operative period was 72.48 ng/mL. They showed lung metastases to 16 % and 8 % mediastinum. 70 % of patients had total thyroidectomy, 18.9 % overall and 2.7 % extended thyroidectomy, subtotal thyroidectomy associated with nodal neck dissection in 48.6 %. 70 % of the cases were welldifferentiated tumors; 67 % were papillary carcinoma; 51.4 % with lymphatic invasion and vascular invasion 59.5 %. Lymph nodes were evaluated with average of 21 resected and five committed, involved margins associated with 37 %. The dose for ablation of residual tissue was 80mCi, which was performed in 10.8 %. The remaining patients had therapeutic dose of 100 mCi in 37.8 % and up to 180 mCi dose in 5.4 %, with this dose in two patients requiring second or third dose because of persistent disease.
